My Must Have Michael Todd Beauty Skin Care Tools

As we enter 2021, many people might consider a reset of their diets, fitness, and certain habits. Personally, I enjoy resetting my skin by giving it some extra loving care. Skin care products are great on their own but the added benefits of devices can truly brighten and tighten. Here are some of my must have Michael Todd Beauty skin care tools.

Michael Todd Beauty Sonic Refresher

This skin care tool is the world’s first wet/dry sonic microdermabrasion & pore extraction system. My skin is on the sensitive side so I only use it with the mister that keeps my skin hydrated.

It claims to rejuvenate the complexion and give the skin a more youthful glow using diamond encrusted tips, their sonic technology, vacuum suction, and micronized misting.

I have yet to use the vacuum suction feature, mainly because blackheads aren’t my main concern. The immediate result that I noticed are an improvement in the texture of my skin. Plus, it instantly feels softer and my skin care products apply much better.

With longer use it can help improve fine lines and an uneven skin tone. My skin does get a little red after but looks better by the morning. I usually do this in the evening and use a hydrating moisturizer that works well for sensitive skin after. (Cetaphil moisturizing lotion is my go to.)

Try These Hand Creams for Frequently Washed Hands

With the state of the world today, washing your hands to practice good hygiene is a top priority. Personally, my hands have never been drier and it’s been a challenge to keep them hydrated. I’m sure I’m not alone, so I created a list of my favorite hand creams for frequently washed hands.

Affordable Hand Creams

Aveeno Intense Relief Hand Cream

With claims that it lasts through hand washing and moisturizes for 24 hours, I find this to be one of the best affordable options. The Aveeno Intense Relief Hand Cream uses colloidal oatmeal (finely-ground oatmeal commonly used to soothe and protect the skin among other things), to help heal and protect your dry skin.

My sensitive skin enjoys the fragrance-free and steroid-free formula. Plus, it’s non-greasy and fast absorbing.

Nubian Heritage Raw Shea Butter Hand Cream

Currently on my computer desk is the Nubian Heritage Raw Shea Butter Hand Cream. It’s been a lifesaver for my hands in between typing and caring for the kids. It’s made with a nutrient-rich formula that contains raw shea butter, soy milk, vitamin E, Frankincense and Myrrh.

Anytime I use this age-defying cream, it feels rich and not greasy. It helps the deep lines on on my hands appear smoother after each use.

Luxury Hand Cream Options

L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream

One of my long-time favorites is the L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream. It’s made with 20% shea butter, coconut oil, honey, and marshmallow root extracts, and heals my cracked knuckles instantly.

Despite it feeling more like a balm, it absorbs well into my skin. I try to purchase the Shea Butter Hand Cream Trio set to always have a restock for my purse.

AHAVA Dead Sea Mineral Hand Creams

This luxurious hand cream (and my personal favorite) uses a formula made with the Dead Sea water and witch hazel. With 21 essential minerals and AHAVA’s signature mineral catalyst, Osmoter, my hands feel deeply hydrated, not sticky, and the moisture is locked-in.

The Cactus & Pink Pepper and Sea-Kissed scents offer different fragrance options to cater to your preferences. I tend to go with the original fragrance which smells sweet and nutty.

This is on the pricier side but I seem to repurchase it time after time.

Josie Maran Argan Infinity Cream Intensive Creamy Oil

Calling this just a hand cream wouldn’t do it justice. Josie Maran’s Argan Infinity Cream Intensive Creamy Oil is more multipurpose and offers intense, long-term hydration using a cream-to-oil formula.

Included in this formula is argan oil, vitamin E, antioxidants, and fatty acids. With the consistency more true to a salve, it does leave the skin a bit on the greasy side. Still, my hands feel luminous and smooth.

Some of the most common areas it hydrates include:

Chapped hands
Dry lips
Dry cuticles
Elbow and knees

One of my favorite ways to use it was as a mixing medium for makeup to create cream formulas.

The Perfect Winter Skincare Routine for Dry Skin

With the cold winter weather, skin changes and often needs a boost of moisture. That’s why I want to share my perfect winter skincare routine. My skin is on the normal to dry side and I love to have a dewy finish all year long. However, it’s not that easy now that I’m 24 weeks pregnant. At times, my skin and hair do feel a bit drier than normal so certain changes need to happen. Here’s what I’m doing to combat my dryness:

Winter Skincare Routine

Makeup Removal

The magic happens at night when I typically apply the most products. If I wear makeup during the day, my first step is to remove it so I’ve been applying the Yes To Coconut Ultra Hydrating Melting Cleanser to dry skin. Let me tell you that this takes EVERYTHING off even waterproof eye makeup and lipstick. After applying, I use a wet washcloth to wipe away all of the debris.

Cleansing

If I’m not wearing makeup or for a deeper cleanse, I continue with Juice Beauty’s Stem Cellular 2-in-1 Cleanser and then rinse well. The stem cellular collection is listed on their website as a product that is great for a healthy pregnancy. Not to mention it contains a blend of vitamin C and fruit stem cells that are infused into an organic resveratrol grapeseed base. It’s perfect for my anti-aging regimen which is why the majority of my routine includes this line.

Tone & Moisturize

Next, I spritz the Juice Beauty Hydrating Mist to tone and refresh and then smooth the Stem Cellular Anti-Wrinkle Booster Serum onto my face and neck. As a neck treatment, I apply the Stem Cellular Lifting Neck Cream in upward strokes to help minimize the appearance of fine lines. Lastly from this line, I apply a pea-sized amount of the Stem Cellular Anti-Wrinkle Eye Treatment around the orbital bone of my eyes.

Recently, I discovered Shea Moisture’s amazing skin care line purchased their Raw Shea Butter Anti-Aging Moisturizer. It exceeded my expectations by providing deep hydration at an affordable price. My favorite combo is a cocktail of that cream with 2 drops of Gio Naturals Rosehip Oil. After smoothing it on, the result is clean, hydrated skin that glows into the daytime.
