Essential oils have been a staple in my cabinet for a variety of reasons, including promoting hair growth. With so many different oils available, it can be challenging to figure out which ones are the best for this. Today, I’ll share some of my favorite essential oils for hair growth and how they can benefit your hair.

Essential Oils to Promote Hair Growth

  1. Rosemary oil is believed to promote a healthy scalp because the stimulation increases circulation. This may increase hair growth. It also has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, making it ideal for those with dandruff or an itchy scalp.
  2. Lavender oil is a gentle and relaxing oil that has been also shown to help promote hair growth. Not only do its antiseptic properties help keep the scalp clean, but the fragrant scent helps calm the mind.

  1. Peppermint oil helps stimulate the scalp leaving it feeling refreshed and invigorated. It’s one of my personal favorites because it leaves a cooling sensation on the scalp that wakes me up. This oil is believed to improve circulation in the scalp and help to promote healthy hair growth.
  2. Thyme oil has antiseptic properties that are also believed to help promote hair growth. It helps to keep the scalp clean and free of bacteria while increasing circulation in the scalp.

How to Use Oils for Hair Growth

Before starting a routine with essential oils, it is recommended to do a patch test. I like to test a small area behind the ear and inner elbow to see if I have a reaction. You can also speak to a professional for additional concerns.

To use these oils for hair growth, you can mix a few drops of the oil with a carrier oil, such as jojoba. Then massage the mixture into your scalp. I prefer to do this before bedtime as part of my nightly ritual. You can also add a few drops of the oil to your shampoo or conditioner to help promote hair growth.

To sum it up, adding essential oils to your scalp care routine may be able to help to promote growth. Whether you are looking to prevent hair loss or simply want to promote healthy hair growth, incorporating these essential oils into your hair care routine is a great way to achieve your goals.
